  4. !R4Convert is a utility which will convert all your Rhapsody 1, 2 and 3
  5. files into Rhapsody4 files.

  7. Run the program and click on the iconbar icon to bring up the main
  8. window. Drag all the files and/or directories containing files which you
  9. want to convert into the lower box and drag the directory in which you
  10. want all the converted files to be placed into the upper box. Then click
  11. on OK.

  13. R4Convert searches all the source directories for files, converts them
  14. and places them in equivalent directories in the new master directory.
  15. This process is fully multi-tasking.

  17. When a converted file is loaded into Rhapsody4 for the first time,  the
  18. program will re-calculate all the slotwidths and resave the file
  19. automatically. This may take a few seconds but will not happen when the
  20. file is loaded subsequently.

  22. NB while most of Rhapsody's features are converted, R4Convert will not
  23. always get everything right because Rhapsody4 stores certain information
  24. in a different way. In addition, Rhapsody4 is a lot more fussy about
  25. correct alignment. If the converted score does not play correctly, try
  26. marking the whole score as a block (by putting the cursor on any stave
  27. and pressing Ctrl-Shift-Z) and selecting Block->Align.
